Performer
John Cody Carter and his band perform at festivals, fairs, rodeos,
concerts, churches, and venues throughout the United
States as well as Eastern and Western Canada and the
Philippines.
Cody toured as a rhythm guitar player and opening act with
Johnny Paycheck.
He and his band performed regularly at "Merle Haggard’s
Silverthorn Resort” at Lake Shasta, California, opening
shows for "Hag" as well as many other top country
performers appearing at the resort.
Cody has occasionally
opened shows for Merle Haggard at various venues and functions around
the country including, The Disabled Vietnam Veteran’s
Benefit Concert in Redding California; The Wild Horse in Nashville
Tennessee; The Freddy Powers Celebrity Roast in Austin Texas;
The Roy Nichols Tribute Concert in Oildale, California; The
Little Red Wagon Concert benefiting needy families held at
the Redding Civic Auditorium, Redding, California; and The
Ryman Auditorium in Nashville Tennessee.
Cody performed with Willie Nelson and Freddy Powers in the
movie "Tales Out of Luck. "
Cody performed at several Steel Guitar Seminars on the West
Coast with Jeff
Newman and other Steel Guitar legends including Buddy Emmons,
Paul Franklin Jr.,
and Bobby Black.
Recently, Cody performed with Freddy
Powers and Clint Strong at Willie Nelson's Annual 4th of
July Concert in Ft. Worth Texas.
J.C.C. recently performed shows in Canada
with Canadian award winning musicians Steve Piticco and Don Reed
at the Havelock Country Music Jamboree, the Kipewa Country
Music Festival in Quebec and a show with Steve and Spike
Piticco in Brighton Ontario.
John Cody Carter and his band performed at "Scotty's
International Steel Guitar Convention" backing up pedal steel guitar
legend Norm Hamlet as he was inducted into the Steel Guitar
Players Hall of Fame in St. Louis Missouri.
